PCC’s Fatherhood Program
PCC offers services and programs to support mom, dad and the baby. “I’m so glad this place is for the guy too!” is one of the comments we receive from our clients. And guys love PCC. We offer one-on-one coaching and education about issues guys face during the pregnancy as well as classes that help them transition into fatherhood – all facilitated by guys in guy-friendly spaces.
The presence of a mother and a father in a healthy relationship, teaching together and guiding their children is essential to healthy child development. That’s why we’ve made it a priority to build healthy families by building strong dads.
Fatherhood Statistics
“American fatherlessness is a national disaster and, according to the latest research into its effects, more of a disaster than anybody could have imagined.”
- The number of American families without fathers has grown from 10.3 percent in 1970 to 24.6 percent in 2013.
- In the United States today, 17.5 million children do not have an involved father.
- Fatherlessness increases risks for suicide, incarceration, and mental health disorders. Children with dads who spend time with them are healthier, better educated, more stable, and less likely to be involved in crime. Active involvement by fathers in their families is undeniably in the public’s best interest.
