PCC Receives Grant from Children’s Trust Fund

Posted on Friday, June 5th, 2020

PCC is so grateful to Children’s Trust Fund for the recent grant award to support our new Infant Safety Care Program. With this option, PCC will provide new infant car seats for safe transportation or new Pack ‘n Plays for safe sleep to clients who complete five coaching sessions and five core group classes.  Sleep hazards and accidents are leading causes of infant death.  This equipment, along with the knowledge for proper use, are crucial elements to giving at-risk children the best possible start in life and preventing tragic consequences.

The goal of PCC’s coaching and education services is to strengthen families by helping expectant parents become the best versions of themselves and to parent in healthy, constructive ways; thereby making families, and in turn our community, stronger.  These services are offered at no cost to clients.

There is a demonstrated need in southwest Missouri for parents, especially those in single-parent households and those living below the poverty line, to be able to access quality infant safety equipment and education affordably and through trusted sources. PCC’s simple, cost-effective approach of providing new safety equipment to clients who participate in group classes and individualized coaching helps new parents keep their babies safe.

Thank you, Children’s Trust Fund, for your support of PCC’s Infant Safety Care Program!
