U.S. District Judge Howard Sachs issued a preliminary injunction blocking a ban on abortions at eight weeks and beyond, a key provision of the Missouri Stands for the Unborn Act, which was to take effect on August 28th.  A lawsuit filed by Planned Parenthood and the American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri challenged several provisions of the law.

However, most of the provisions did become effective on August 28th, including the ban on abortions based on race, sex or Down syndrome diagnosis; enactment of legislation that would ban all abortions if Roe v. Wade is overturned and expansion of the pregnancy resource center (PRC) tax credit program. You can read more here or here.
